“Never used a center speaker. Apparently, it's good for movies or TV shows. What about music? Does it really matter much to have a center speaker when listening to CD's or musical performances on TV? Thanks!”

You'll hear sound separation with a center speaker that you weren't aware of without it. With music, omg! With movies, voices talking at same time become distinct & clear.

I seldom override it for my music listening, but once in a while select the 'Dolby Enhanced Sterio' setting on my jukebox, which includes center and sub for my music listening.
