I have a set of these set up as rear surround speakers on my STR-DH790 receiver, they work great. Adjust output as required from the home screen after running the easy set up.

However, if it supports passive speaker connections and an impedance of 6 ohms, then the SS-CS5 Bookshelf Speakers should perfectly work (regardless of the watts per channel of the receiver). Additional information: • Ohms is a rating that refers to the restriction of power, or impedance. The higher the ohm rating, the more impedance is applied to the flow of power. Most home receivers and speakers are rated 4, 6 or 8 ohms. The exact rating can be found on the unit. When matching speakers and Audio/Video (A/V) receivers, the ohm rating of the speaker should be equal to or greater than the ohm rating of the receiver. • When matching speakers with lower impedance than what the A/V receiver is rated may cause damage to the receiver and is not recommended. NOTE: Some receivers have an impedance range, others may have an impedance switch. The switch may allow lower impedance speakers to be connected without harm to the receiver as long as the switch is set to the correct impedance. The SS-CS5 (Bookshelf speaker) has a 3-way 3-driver speaker system. It produces sound from its Woofer, Tweeter, and Super tweeter. At first listen, these new Core Series speakers will make your favorite audio tracks unfold throughout your listening environment, thanks to precise instrument reproduction, positioning, and even depth relative to an expansive soundstage.
