A:AnswerHi JJ,
Speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. A lower-gauge number indicates a thicker wire, while a higher-gauge number indicates a thinner wire. Speaker wires with lower-gauge numbers are better at carrying an amplified audio signal.
When determining which wire gauge to use, consider how far away the speakers are from your amplifier or A/V receiver. Generally, for short speaker wire runs, a 16-gauge wire is sufficient. However, for longer speaker wire runs (to another room, for example), it is better to use a thicker, lower-gauge wire.
Happy to help,
David
A:AnswerThese speakers will work with your Sony receiver. One note of importance: 6-ohm speakers on your 8-ohm receiver/amplifier should be fine as long as you do not push it past 70% / 7 out of 10 on the volume knob. Some Sony Receivers include a switch to change Ohm settings. If you have a 6-Ohm option, use it. If not, leaving it at 8-Ohms will be fine. The only thing you want to avoid is any speakers in the 4-Ohm range.

A:AnswerHi notsotechie, yes, these bookshelf speakers can be used as front and rear/surround speakers for your 5.1 system. You may check this link for more information on these speakers: https://docs.sony.com/release//SS-CS3_CS5_CS8_EN_ES_FR.pdf Thanks, -Mark
A:AnswerYou will need a receiver/amplifier for these speakers to output audio. Speakers wires are needed in connecting these speakers to the receiver/ amplifier. Thanks,

A:AnswerHi Bestbuyer, A subwoofer will give you more bottom-end sound and will cater the lower frequencies but is not necessary. This speaker is enough to provide you top of the line sound experience. ~Ralph
A:AnswerThere are no mounting points on the rear of the speaker. However, I did screw a mounting bracket to mine using wood screws. WARNING - I took the drivers out to check for clearance, and there’s a crossover board at the bottom rear below the port. DO NOT DRILL THERE. Only drill at the top. There’s a wooden brace at the top perfect for shooting some screws through. Again - DO NOT DRILL AT OR BELOW THE PORT!
A:AnswerYes they will work well as left and right speakers but you will also need the Sony center channel speaker and subwoofer and a pair of surround speakers, such as the Polk OWM3.
A:Answer1400 watts is that 2 channel or total power? Is your amp a 7 or5 channel? Are these speakers going to be in the front or rear? What ever the case maybe they will work fine better to give them more power than under power them so crank it up and enjoy.
A:AnswerHi I use this speakers in a home theater system is “Sony - 1015W 7.2-Ch. 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver - Black” have two towers speakers , center speaker and bookshelf speakers sounds is amazing yes I recommend the speakers...

A:AnswerHi Chica323, Thank you for your inquiry! Speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. However, for longer speaker wire runs (to another room, for example), it is better to use a thicker, lower-gauge wire.
You will need to have a receiver/ amplifier that supports speaker connection and audio cable connection for your turntable.

Carl
A:AnswerHi Craig, It is not designed to be connected directly to a TV. It also doesn't support an optical connection. It uses standard speaker wires for connection. You may refer to this link for more information:
