This is a speaker that delivers the best value for money and yes, it is perfectly compatible with all sound systems of the past. It has nothing to do with your pre-amp. As long as you have a power amp, you should be fine. Just check the power output. If your amplifier is too powerful, don't crank up the volume too high. Impedance should not be an issue. Yours is probably 8 ohms. This one is 6 ohms, but no big deal.

A:AnswerNo they are not POWERED speakers .Use audio out from your tv to your stereo to amplify the signal.These speakers are then wired from your stereo amp.
If you don't have a stereo to run audio out of you have 2 choices.The best:.If you have an optical audio out on your tv run an optical cable to a soundbar. Best Buy has a wide selection.
You can get by on the cheap (if you just want improved tv sound but don't need to turn the room into a concert hall if you have a headphone jack out on the back of the tv by 3.5 mm plug to a pair of ,say nice computer speakers.I have 1 tv i use Bose Companion's on.Make sure you have a tone control on the speakers (the Bose don't have it)if you go that route.

A:AnswerWell dragon, with that big boy you got drivin the bus I suppose you could hook up speakers till the cows come, question is,, why would you? Assuming looking at your list of stuff, atmos-fronts, you have a center, and 2 subs. What your missing obviously is rear channel speakers, no? Were you thinking 2 per side rear speakers since your looking to buy 4 of these? If so if I was you I'd be looking to combine the money you would spend on two sonys into a larger Klipsch or whatever brand you favor. Better match for the atmos. Look for a freq range to 25khz. OR how about a bigger sony?
