• Hi, Yes. You can set the VOR (Voice Operated Recording) function to “ON,” to make the IC recorder start recording when the IC recorder detects sound, and pause when no sound is heard, eliminating recording during soundless periods. You can also manually start/stop recording by pressing the REC & STOP buttons. -Anthony

• Yes. But the headset microphone is more accurate. The voice recorder is a manual starts/stop/pause unit.

• YES! Voice Activation is an option you can choose whether or not to activate. I live alone, and used it last night to see if I was snoring. During the entire nights sleep less than 2 minutes were recorded - none of which was snoring. It also has a Noise Reduction feature to minimize background noise.
