is the camera metal or is it plastic null

It is metal. I use this camera for work as a real estate appraiser. I am now on by fourth Sony Cybershot cameral (over a 15+ year span), with no complaints....I literally wear them out, but keep in mind, I take a lot of pictures, probably over 10,000 a year. I've only had one misfunction on one of these cameras, I dropped it and the small piece that holds the battery "sprang loose", it still works, but when I open the battery/scandisk compartment, the battery would fall out, shut it back up and it works fine. Again, I use it a lot and I've dropped them a good bit over the years...with no problems. I've tired other cameras in the past, but favor this one. Light, fits in my pocket, reliable, and plan to continue to use and recommend it.
