Well, this dvd player is a no frills version. It has RCA output and an Optical Audio Out as well. I cannot answer for the sound quality because I bought it to use in a cottage that only had the built in tv speakers but I can say that if you're looking for an HDMI output, this is NOT a good choice for you. It does NOT have an HDMI out jack. There are RCA cablees included though.
