A:AnswerHello. This is a DVD player and will only play CDs and DVDs. Check out the Sony's Blu-ray players from this link: https://www.sony.com/electronics/blu-ray-dvd-players/t/blu-ray-disc-players. -Vincent
A:AnswerIt is very easy to install. I hooked it up with a HDMI plug which was compatible to my TV rather than the plugs included with the player. You just need to purchase the HDMI and it's 1-2-3, and watch your movies.
A:AnswerWith most DVD players, including this one, you do the same thing by using subtitles, which are an option on most newer DVD's. CC is a streaming/over the air option.
A:AnswerYes. My experience is that when you stop the Sony DVD player at some point it will return to that point. If you take out the disc that function may or may not work.
A:AnswerHi, Royrc, No. This is a DVD player. If you are looking for a Blu-ray player, check out the models here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/blu-ray-dvd-players/t/blu-ray-disc-players. -Vincent
A:AnswerI just purchased a Fire Stick 4k. Based on my research the Fire Stick is a more robust versitle device. ROKU may be simpler to select shows, but I liked the Amazon Fire Stick due to Android operating system and the voice support. Will be hooking it up tonight to watch some Apple TV shows.
A:AnswerHi wilpen,
Upscaling DVD Player (via HDMI; cable sold separately) makes your existing DVDs look better
on your HDTV by improving the picture quality to near high definition.

A:AnswerWhat do you mean by "unformatted" and "unlabeled"? These terms are very vague when referring to commercially and privately recorded DVD's. "Formatted" refers to recordable media, such as the old floppy disks. Recordable media need to be formatted before you can record on them. The SONY unit is not a DVD recorder. If by "unformatted" you are referring to the video system, the SONY DVP-SR510H for the U.S. is NTSC. If by "unlabeled" you are referring to the Region, the SONY player is Region 1 and that's it. Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems your terms are too vague for a meaningful answer.
A:AnswerHi, STRIPERMAN! Unfortunately, this model doesn't support Blu-ray discs. You may want to consider our current line of Blu-ray players:

A:AnswerI used hdmi because it provides one solution for audio and video. The dvd did come with audio cords, but since I was hooking up to a smart tv, I chose to go with hdmi cord. Less connections.
A:AnswerI have no idea what you are talking about, way beyond my technological knowledge. I bought this unit as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter and, as far as I know, she is very happy with it.
A:AnswerHi, netflix! Unfortunately, it doesn't have Internet capability to support Netflix. You may want to consider the UBP-X800M2 or UBP-X700. ~Ralph
