“I am confused. Sony states it can play HD DVD's ( the ones in the burgandy case) but a consumer responded that it cannot. What is the correct answer? Does it play HD formatted DVD's?”

• Hi Gio, no, this DVD player does not support the playback of native HD DVD discs. What it does it upscales the content from discs to HD resolution. This player supports DVD, DVD+RW/+R/+R DL(+VR mode), DVD-RW/-R/-R DL (VR mode/video mode), Music CD/Super VCD, and CD-R/-RW discs. Please keep in mind that our players are locked to region 1/A/US.
