• This DVD player will support closed-captioning when playing a store-bought disc (with subtitles) using either HDMI or RCA cable connection. However, when watching a program or movie recorded onto a DVD-R disc, closed-captions are only available when using the RCA (red, white, yellow) cable connection. Use both cables and you can toggle between AV source settings, depending on your captioning needs.
