Hello, I've just tested this on mine and unfortunately Extra Bass does not work in wired mode; but still these headphones rock. In fact, I purchased another pair for myself since the first was a Christmas gift for my niece. Personally, I would totally recommend you getting these headphones, especially because the sound is well balanced, rich, and powerful.

No, after some research myself, Sony indicates that you cannot use the Bass Boost when wired.

Yes you can. The only time you can't use the extra bass is if the batteries are dead or it's turned off.
