• This lens is a 24mm and you're asking to compare it to a 35mm so they are different lenses with different uses. As far as the aperture goes, the difference between 1.8 and 1.4 is fairly minimal and pictures tend to look soft at 1.4, so 1.8 is fine if you're looking to save money. First I would figure out if 24mm is a focal length that you actually find useful.
