how is the battery life on this camera? i plan on taking one to an amusement park and was wondering if i would need a spare battery.

You should always carry a spare battery especially if you're at a place like a amusement park. You may use your camcorder a lot more than you thought you would. Also little things we sometimes don't think about like using the zoom or adding a special effect can eat up battery life like you wouldn't believe. I always carry a spare just in case. We usually get 60 to 100 minutes of recording time.

You can get a good two hours out of it...I would bring a spare or a cord to charge

The battery life is really good. We took it on our vacation this past May and had at least 2 full days without recharging the battery.
