“Just unboxed this controller, plugged it into my PS5 Type C USB and no lights or any indication that it is charging. Tried several other ways to charge it for the first time and nothing as of yet. Does it take the full 3 hours before it will turn on?”

Disconnect your ps5 plug back in hold the power botton until you hear two beeps then let it turn on and it should work

If it’s not holding a charge or won’t charge at all for that matter I would bring it back right away. Plus it always helps to get warranty on these things. Because sooner or later stick drift happens. Good luck buddy!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.no, it should start charging right a way, an hr should be enough, make sure you put the ps5 on sleep mode, so it can charge while your not playing, i recommend a charging station, it works as a stand, cooling and and dual controller charger.
