Hey, all you need to have with you in order to get it replaced is the controller(no box needed I believe) and the receipt. If you don’t have the receipt there’s no need to worry because they can easily find your purchase history through your phone or email that you used for your Best Buy account

My purchases are always on our account so it keeps track of my warranty and protection service. The Greek Squad can tell you if it is covered. During the COVID-19 distancing, I have replaced one thing at the curbside pick up. It was easy and I didn't have a box. I also see you can make an appointment at some stores.
