I record all my daughters' college soccer games. It usually lasts more than half of the game which is 45 minutes. I have never ran the battery down to zero, I just switch batteries at half time. So if the game lasts more than an hour make sure you have 2 batteries if you can't plug in directly to an outlet.

If the camera gets to rest and only a few picrues are taken at a time the battery lasts a very long time. If you are taking shots at high resolution and/or many shots in succession or video the battery will not last very long. Also depends on how old the battery is. I probably can get 2000 pictures with general use, but when expecting to take a lot of picutres I will get a fresh battery and take along two extras -- I don't want to miss the mother cheetah with her cubs because the battery is exhausted1
