Android 12. Yes you can use most apps of your choice to listen. I'm not 100% sure of anything iphone related but anything you can use via android you can. It's basically a tiny computer... which sets up just like an android phone. Wifi, password, email, internet browser any app, Google I've posted a pic as an example. There's also Google play.. you can download any apps

The sound quality from this apps are not of high resolution. Spotify has high resolution music for some songs, but using Sony's app allows you to play Flac an AAC files and those high fidelity audio formats.
