What is open- box mean for a PS5 sold at best buy null

Someone on twitter posted that an open box flashing up in the middle of the night is BestBuy employees buying returns. Not sure if its true but it would make sense why noone Ive known of has actually gotten an open box ps5.

It means it’s been opened and returned. But I think you can only buy it from a local store.
