if you have a recent hdtv, then no. while the ps5 (and xbox) are capable of outputting content above the specs of current mainstream tvs, such as 8k and 4k 120hz. given the scarcity of 8k content (no games) not to mention the tv prices ($10000+), and the fact that most common 4k tvs run at 60hz. no games for a few years will take full advantage of the systems or tax your tvs so you don't need a one anytime soon.
