As of this posting, sony has not released much technical details. But the ps5 is using a custom, very fast, mvne ssd. Currently there are non on the market that are compatible with the ps5. It is believed that you will be able use an external drive for storage ONLY (not having to redownload your games). You will still have to install the games onto the mvne drive on the ps5. Wait on any storage purchases until sony clarifiers.
