A ban by Sony is to the user account and any licenses it holds. Which means a ban on PS4 is the same as a ban on PS5. The PSN ban prevents you from playing any online content. Depending on the level of ban it could be just multiplayer content, multiplayer + social(messaging and party chat), or all content. Having a disc just means that you can create a new PSN account and play those games using that ID.
