Means someone had purchased it and opened the box then returned it to the store . Although the store does check for damages wear and tear etc if it’s still functional they’ll resell the item lower price and state it’s opened box. Keep in mind the person who purchased it originally probably just didn’t want the product anymore but there’s always a reason why someone returns something
