“Is there any way to use a third party dongle with this headset? Got one off of eBay and didn't notice it didn't come with an adapter. I know I am able to use them wired with the controller but I would like to be able to use the microphone”

They do come with a dongle whoever you purchased from didnt put it in the box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry they do not come with a dongle. These connect to the PS4/5 via built in Bluetooth. Short answer is, no they are very specific use and Sony likely made them proprietary so they only work with PlayStations.
