The reason I want a voice recorder is because I want to make a file, stop the recording and come back to it a day later and add to the same file. I want one long recording of a book I am reading so I could listen to it once I am done. Is this possible? null

I believe you're referring to the add/overwrite function which allows you to come back to a recording previously made and add to it. This was always a great feature to have if (like me) you are dictating books or novels into the recorder and are short for time-you can leave off and pick up later(ADD) w/o having to start a new recording. All the previous comparable Sony models I had came with this feature but sadly, it now seems to only be available on the cheapest model(ICDBX140) which lacks the capacity to connect to a PC an upload your files for backup and also lacks the micro hd souncard slot. This makes NO SENSE and is unfortunate.

You can make a folder and have all the book file in the folder numbered in order.
