I had an old set of Sony earphones. All I needed was an "extension cord" and they worked great. I have an issue with volume. or my wife does.

no the audio input cable should be all that is needed

Since the TV is new you do not. It just plugs into the back of the TV.

You need nothing else. Wireless headphones solved the problem for me. Carefully read instructions; it takes some time to learn how to use them most effectively.
