“I connected the new Sony player to a Vizio E-series 70 inch 4k uhd tv. The TV and dvd player are connected to a Yamaha V-583 4K receiver with 4k cables. I just watched a 4K movie and the picture was very good but not great. Do I have to adjust player?”

Make the tv is putting out 4K and receiving 4K you can see this at the pause menu on 4K player also make sure your connected on a 4K entry port
