Haven't had many other players, unit starts up in 15-20 secs. You could power on, pop in a disc, and be playing in a minute. There is a top menu on the remote that jumps to the main menu, bypassing previews.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sony Blu-ray players are known for their quick power up and disc loading when compared to other manufacturers. This has become a trademark of Sony BD players. The UBP-X800 is no exception. In fact, the new Sony processor is now faster than the one used in its predecessor, the UHP-H1. You'll be playing your movie in seconds, probably less than 15 secs. If you select the Top Menu on the remote, you'll bypass the previews and go to the Top Menu on the disc which allows you to play or resume the movie.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It takes me about 20s before I can play a movie and I have to select the player as the input. As for the ability to skip straight to the movie, the individuals programming the content on each disc are in control of that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Sony DVD player cues up quickly. There's no way that I have found two bypass trailers etc. with the exception of the DVDs/ discs having that option available
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This player ques up very quickly. Much faster than my old OPPO. I have been able to skip previews by pressing next. However the ability to skip the previews is not so much a function of the player but what the disc allows.
