• The 1000 has a front LCD display, which the 800 doesn't. The 1000 also has right and left analog stereo output jacks (RCA type) on the back, so you can connect to an external sound system for your movies...and also listen to Blu-ray audio discs. There may be other minor differences that I'm not aware of.
