I only use Sony TV and Sony blue ray players. The Sony ubd-x800m2 gives an excellent picture. I can't compare it to any other player because I have only use Sony for about 12 years.

With the right HDMI cables you will, they are pricey, but worth it. I by them at best buy, the Cinnamon HDMI cable is what I use.
