You can play CD via a digital connection to your A/V receiver , however to play SACD you have to connect HDMI out put of DVD to HTMI input of your A/V receiver. You do not have to have your TV on to listen to the music however, you can not see what tract number you are playing unless you see it on your TV monitor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You CAN connect it directly to an amp/receiver as I have. Your options are “HDMI audio only” or “digital coax”. There is no analog (RCA) option. I don’t think this has a Toslink optical connection but I could be mistaken. However, note that there is no “info screen” to see track/time data, so you’ll be guessing at that. Seems like something they should have added at this price point. In fact, I would have rather had an info screen rather than yet another way to connect streaming apps as I already have a streaming box and TV that do that, but I digress.
