I still contact Sony to make a internal m2 hard drive version of this (DVDs are harder to buy = streaming is limited to 1080 without freezing = full downloads are best)

I can’t directly answer your question. But I have successfully played files from a 128GB SD card in an adapter that plugs into the USB port. The files were also MKV format that my old PS3 player would not play.
