• My ipad sound quality and volume is much better than Sony speaker. On my speaker, the volume never changes regardless of how many times volume is depressed.

• No, but 2 will and you can use them for surround sound. The source device needs to stay within 12 ft for the cleanest sound.

• With just one it may sound ok. But if you have two you can pair them, and put one on each end to get a good depth sound. But keep good distance from pool as they are not water proof .
