Yes, this is the one Sony indicates will be used by the a7R Mark III once it is released. Just remember, Best Buy stores will usually have the other battery grips in stock, but this a9 (and a7R iii) battery grip usually have to be ordered. Also, take advantage of their current buy 3 camera accessories and get 25% off sale, since those Z batteries are not cheap.

You have to buy the one for the Sony A7R Mark Iii. Each Sony has a different grip.

if you can remove the battery door from the A7RIII, i dont see why it wouldnt work. Same battery, you just need to detach battery door to properly seat the grip on the camera.
