Hi Penny, Thanks for your inquiry! You can use the equalizer on the Sony Headphones Connect App to reduce the bass using your smartphone first, then connect your Headphones to your TV. The changes that you have made on the app should be stored in the Headphones even after you've connected the headphones to your TV. Hope this helps! -Sam
