They sure can Katie! Really good headphones they are. Really nice quality in terms of sound, comfort and new technology. Hope u get your hands on one while stocks last, I was lucky to pick up the last one in the store a couple days back. Ps. I dont work for Sony lol

If you're that new to bluetooth headsets then maybe I'd start with a lower end Sony model. See what you like out of headsets first. A nice $150-$200 headset to start. You wanna know what kind of sound you like (more base, focus on mids and highs, neutral, etc), if noice canceling is off puting to you, etc.
