Depends on the cable you, if its a trusted known brand like Samsung or Belkin I would trust it. I recommend getting an Anker USB Charger all their chargers are top notch even better than the original OEM chargers the headphones came in.

I honestly don't believe it will damage it. I've been charging all my Bluetooth headphones with my cellphone charger and so far they all still work as expected.

Yes, any USB cable will do. The voltages are the same with all USB connections.
