If the TV is capable of bluetooth, which some are then you are able to connect them. You can use these headphones with both Iphone and Samsung devices.

Please try again later.Unsure about the Sony Smart tv, but as for the gym question, the instructions/warning label that comes in the box shows a diagram of avoiding water and sweating while using them. In the end, it is up to you, but that surprised me so I thought I would pass it along.
