A:AnswerThe answer is YES...I can turn the tv volume to any level, including all the way down. The headphones have their own separate volume control. I also am hard of hearing...This is the reason I bought these... Now i can watch my movies or whatever at the volume I want...When you turn down the volume on the TV it does NOT effect the headphones. However... Using the mute button will mute both. So if the phone rings or if someone is banging at the door you can still quickly shut the volume off and back on when needed by the remote. They were kind of expensive but they are worth it...
