This is probably due to EXTRA BASS and volume levels. I would be almost certain that the tests Sony performed were at a low volume without any additional effects or bluetooth. One other tricky thing companies like to pull when dealing with semantics is that they claim UP TO 24 hours. That is only saying that it is possible under certain conditions, but is not likely to be the case under normal listening use.
