Hi JollyRoger, the two headphones have their own advantages. The headphone on the link you provided is geared for noise cancellation. It is for reducing unwanted ambient sound. The MDRXB550AP is all about the bass, it features Sony's Extra Bass technology which enhances all your low-end frequencies for deep, euphoric sound. Thanks, -Mark
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These definitely work as well as noise cancelling. Even though they are DESIGNATED as noise cancelling, they are awesome. I would buy them again.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.only difference is the noise canceling aspect, but to be honest these headphones are really awesome you get the same rich clear sounds as expected from this brand. The noise cancelling feature is just another added feature which you wont even notice or miss with these regular headphones
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Me I would buy the Sony mdr-xb550ap black headphones you will like them for the sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sound canceling usually only works if you have consistant pressure such as a vacuum or some wind noise. I have a very sensitive hearing and the noise cancelling hums are more disturbing to me when there is not enough noise to cancel. Also they have to have some sort of battery so the headphone usually becomes heavy. Unless you plan on using the noise cancelling on a jet flight or you have a really annoying coworker who won't stop taking on the phone, I prefer a quality over the ear headphone.
