“Is anyone else disappointed with the max volume? I hooked the speaker up via the RCA jacks to my Samsung S7 and had the media volume on the phone all the way up and it was not nearly as loud as I expected. Volume on speaker wouldn't go higher. Any advice?”

Not at all. What I have found is that if u work with the volume on the speaker instead of your phone you are more likely to get a better sound. I have an iPhone and my was able to work loud enough for a 20th birthday party without being at max volume. Hopes this helps.
