The Sony app is where all the update info is. If they are comparable then it will ask you to update them. I have only updated mine once.

Please try again later.in my case i was going to actually purchase a bose noise cancelling headphone when i saw the m3 and listened to it. i had read the amazing reviews. the actual feel and performance swayed me towards buying them. i did not trade the old bose q20 in. i sold it.
