“Does the phone allow xfer of files using USB cable? I tried from two laptops (windows) using a USB cable but I couldnt get the files onto my phone. I didnt want to use wifi for xfer.”

Yes, when you connect the phone to a computer it gives you a few options, one of them is transfer files. Then you will find it in "My Computer" as another device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Did you enable file transfer in the phone. Once you have it connected it will show a USB icon in the upper left corner of your phone screen. If not, may be you need t check the cable or activate manually the USB connection for file transfer (Google it)
