How compatible is this kit? We have an LG WM3988HWA and would like to now buy a dryer. The sales rep at the local store says the kits are not compatible and I would essentially need to buy a new washer as well. But everything I read here says the kit is compatible with most 27" LG machines. Can someone give me a list of dryers that are compatible with my washer and this kit?

I believe he is trying to sell you a bill of goods, all the stacking kits will work with the WM prefixed washers.

The LG Full Size All-In-One SteamWasher™ and Dryer Combo, Model # WM3988HWA is compatible with the stacking kit. If you look at pages 35-36 in your owner;s manual for this washer, the stacking kit was a recommended optional accessory and at the time, that was the Stacking Kit Model # WSTK! which was later replaced with the current Stacking Kit, Model # KSTK1 which is the same. If you visit our site at http://www.lg.com/us/dryers and select Appliances > then either Gas or Electric Dryers, on the left side of the page for either are filters and one of the filters is 'Stackable'. That will filter out all the stackable dryers for you and you can look for dryers with a 27" width that will stack onto your washer...^IFV
