Yes, the wireless transmitter is USB, but PS4 only outputs 2 channels over USB, so surround audio is not possible.

It's obviously possible with the PS gold and platinum both having 7.1. It does have a USB adapter similar to both of those except the Arctic is on a cord instead of a small dongle.
