QuestionIs this better than the Arctis 5? Like what is the difference between the 7's & the 5's? I'm trying to buy one but cannot make up my mind on which one will be better for gaming or to use as actual headphones when i watch a movie on my phone, Xbox, or PC

- Answer As far as which is better, it depends on what you are willing to trade off. Both headsets are virtually identical as far as sound and function. I believe the Arctis 5 mic. has a higher frequency of 22000Hz vs. the Arctis 7 20000Hz. The higher frequency has a better response to clear and crisp treble. I have the Arctis 7 and I do not find any issues with the treble. What I mean about trade-off is, if you like the idea of having a headset that changes color around the outer headset then the Arctis 5 is for you. The Arctis 5 is a wired headset meaning you will be attached to your gaming device and can not walk around listening to music. If you do not need a headset that changes color, which you can not see while wearing them anyway, and would prefer to have the ability to move around wirelessly, then the Arctis 7 would be your best bet. I personally do not have a need for a color changing headset and also prefer to have wireless. So I chose the Arctis 7. Not disappointed at all.

- Answer I purchased these about a month ago, the range is amazing. The battery life at this point lasts about 12 hours of non-stop play. It takes about an hour to charge fully. Not sure how long it will stay like this. Hope this helps.

QuestionIs this product dishwasher safe? I sweat a lot and eat cheetos while gaming, so this earwax/cheese residue builds up very quickly for me. My last headset didn't really specify yes or no, and I found out the hard way. Checking with you guys first this time

QuestionI heard you need a wire for xbox one but not PS4 or PC. Why is this? Was looking to buy these for the xbox one, but now might go with new Astro A50's.

- Answer Actually that is not correct. It comes with a plug for it to sync your headset with your system. THAT piece needs to stay plugged in anytime you play, but the headset itself is completely wireless. Only has to be plugged in when charging.

QuestionDoes the volume wheel on the headset change the volume on ONLY the headset or does it change the volume for Windows wirelessly? Also, do these have an "auto shutdown" battery saving feature?

- Answer The volume dial on the headset is independent from your windows settings. I do not believe they have an auto-off feature. Then come with an adapter cord so you can use them with generic Walkman esque audio ports. Would not want them to shut off unexpectantly while you were listening to a lengthy audiobook or playlist.

- Answer Yes. wire will still be needed :) The wireless is only for pc, There are a few headsets that have the full wireless function for consoles Ex: Turtlebeach/astros/etc. Id recommend getting the arctis 5 if you're playing on xbox.

QuestionWhat is the "wireless transmitter" like? There aren't a whole lot of photos. And, if it's USB, doesn't that mean it should work on the dock for Nintendo Switch?

- Answer The wireless transmitter is a USB dongle type transmitter that plugs into one of your USB ports. There are two 3.5 mm. headphone jacks located at the rear of the device for plugging in additional "wired" earphones. The cable of the USB to dongle transmitter has a good length. I have not measured it but I usually keep it bundled together while plugged in since I am usually not far and I do not have anyone else plugging in that I would have to move it toward them. As far as running on a Switch, I really don't know. When I have a chance I will follow up and let you know.

QuestionDo these work wireless through USB? If so, can these headphones work on my TV via USB port?

- Answer Yes, the headset uses a USB receiver to wireless connect the headset to a PC or applicable game console. Just because I was curious, I tried this out of two TV's in the house. One was a Hisense Smart TV and the other a Samsung (not sure if it is a Smart TV). I could not get the audio to go through the USB receiver and over to the headset. So the answer based on what I was able to test is no, they will not work to route audio from a TV to the headset.

QuestionI just purchased these and hooked them up to my PS4. OMG the volume is so low (even with all of the setting set to max on the PS4 and headset) that you can barely hear anything. This is product is garbage on PS4!! Would love to hear from SteelSeries.

- Answer Hi Dug, if you haven't been able to address this yet, the answer is to update the firmware via the SteelSeries Engine software on PC. Shortly after launch we issued an update that greatly increases the volume level on PS4. Give it a try!

- Answer if you want to use them for XBox they will not be wireless. There is a transmitter which plugs into the computer and I don’t think it will work with XBox. The headset does come with a patch cable which should plug into the audio jack on the controller. I know it’s not completely wireless, but that’s the best you will get from this headset.

QuestionWhy did you buy this product knowing the batteries can't be replaced? Doesn't that mean you're going to buy this again when the batteries cannot be recharged anymore? $200 every two years feels expensive just for wireless.

- Answer Extremely easy to use. The left earmuff has a button which you can easily press to mute/unmute. Prompted by a beep that lets you know you’re muted.

- Answer You may be able to connect the usb to ps4 and connect a 3.5mm audio cable into the usb receiver which has a line in and line out port each. Not sure if it will only use 1 source.
