I think you’re referring to the diffuser. It should fit over the the front of the flash but its a task to get on. You almost have to force it.

Yes, the bounce diffuser is a snug fit, but it will go on there. It acts a sort of a lampshade to distribute light when you bounce the flash off the ceiling or maybe a wall.

You have to squeeze the sides and it will go on
