I use the tripod on my Simmons spotting scope and it threads just fine. My spotting scope uses 1/4" threads on the bottom for tripods. I feel if the mating surface you have is flat and your threads are flush with the mating surface you will have no problem with connecting your device and tightening it to this tripod.
