• It should be fine. I am using with a much heavier camera and lens. Just be careful not to over loosen the legs when setting up or breaking down

• Yes. I have used it with my Nikon D7200 and Sigma 50-100mm f1.8 (hefty lens). A Canon T6i with kit lens should be no problem.
