Is this a multi-player video game? null

You can play with 2 players where one person controls Mario and the other controls the hat. Whoever is playing Mario is doing most of the work so the multiplayer is more like little brother/sister mode where they get to do something too

The game is multiplayer, however one player is mario, the other play gets to be his hat "cappy". So its not a mario and luigi style multiplayer.

i believe by multi-player, it only has 2 players, the second player controls cappy.

There is a local 2 player mode. No online multiplayer

There is an option for a second player to be Cappy the hat. I have not played the game in this way though.

It's one by default or you can switch to 2 players when you press the "+" button. Joy-Cons are held horizontally and one player plays as Mario and the other controls Cappy or Mario's red cap.

Yes it is, but very minimal. One player can control Mario, while the other player controls his hat.

There is a 2-player co-operative mode that you can enable, as long as you have two controllers.
